A Journey That Started in a Camper Van
The Freda’s story began in 2016, when our founders, Lisa and Andrew, set off on the adventure of a lifetime in a camper van called Freda while travelling around New Zealand. As lifelong peanut butter lovers, they were blown away by the variety and quality of nut butters they discovered there—so different from the bland, palm-oil-laden options back home in UK supermarkets.
That journey planted the seed of an idea: to bring natural, flavour-packed, handmade peanut butter to Cornwall. A year later, Freda’s launched with just five flavours—and the rest is history.

From the beginning, our mission has been simple: to make “Peanut Butter, but better!”. That means using only the finest ingredients, such as high-oleic Argentinian peanuts, Cornish Sea Salt, and organic ingredients wherever possible.
Every batch is handmade in small quantities at our professional kitchens in East Cornwall, then taste-tested by the founders before leaving the jar. With no palm oil, no refined sugars, and no artificial additives, Freda’s peanut butter is plant-based, vegan-friendly, and full of natural goodness.
